Do smart products need any additional wiring?
No extra wiring required. Even for smart switches, the latest technologies have designed smart switches to be used even without neutral wires. That way you can easily convert your home into a smart home.
Can smart switches replace my 2-way switches?
Yes it can be done, however, there’s a little challenge in wiring it up as it has to be done differently over the conventional way of wiring switches. After which, you’ll need to connect it up and do a link switch. Use the diagram below.
Why do I need to have a gateway for my smart devices?
You can of course not set up a gateway and use all WiFi products as the protocol for your smart home. However, the problem you’ll face will be having too many devices connected to your WiFi and takes up the bandwidth. After more than 30-50 devices you’ll start to experience lag in your network.
How can I tell if the network I use is 2.4Gbz or 5gHz?
1) Connect to the WiFi network.
2) Open your networks panel from your taskbar (click the WiFi icon in the bottom right).
3) Click on “Properties” of your WiFi network.
4) In the new window that opens, scroll all the way down to “Properties”.
5) “Network Band” will either say 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
How long does it take to install all the devices?
For <15 devices including configurations & automations, it’ll take approximately 3-4 hours to complete. Depending on how complicated your automations are, it may take longer.
My renovations is completed, is it still possible to convert my house to a smart home?
Yes most definitely. However, there are some devices such as smart switches, automated tracks/blinds which are best done during renovations.

How many apps required for a smart home?
You should try to limit yourself to using only 2 apps for your smart home. One for the eco system, another for your home assistant (Voice Command). That way it’ll be easier for you to have total control over your smart home.
What if there is no internet connection?
Forturnately, having a smart home only adds functions to your home. It doesn’t takes away the basis function of your home. That way, in the case of no internet connection, you can still manually control your appliances.
Can I make my non-smart appliance to smart?
Yes. There are plenty of products in the market that can convert non-smart appliances to become smart.
What if I change my WiFi will my smart home set up be gone?
All you need to do is to reconfigure all the devices and your system will be up and running.
